उपेन्द्र यादव born 1960) is a Nepali politician, Former Foreign Affair Minister of Nepal, and the president ofFederal Socialist Forum, Nepal (FSF) which have international presence. He is one of the most renowned politician in Nepalese politics. In March 2007, dispute between MJF activists and United Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) regarding the site of gathering of their respective parties activist in Gaur, lead to violence, which left at least 27 people dead. According to the field report Mr. yadav played crucial role to heighten this violence with his powerful influencing speech. Upendra Yadav also worked as a school lecturer in Jaycee Bal Shree College in Gaur. He and his party has been fighting against political elites and ruling class of Nepal demanding proportional representation, equality and end of discrimination towards the Madhesi and indigenous Janjati and Adivasi people such as Maithali, Tharu, Rai, Limbu, Magar, Tamang including Women and politically backward ethnic groups.[1] Following the April 2008 Constituent Assembly election, the MJF (now, Fsf Nepal)a agreed to join a government headed by Prachanda, the chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). Yadav was subsequently appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs and sworn in on August 22, 2008; he was one of four MJF members included in the Cabinet.[2]
