Hair plays a very important role to make a person look attractive. Healthy and beautiful hair is a sign of beauty for both men and women. But unfortunately there are many people who have lost their hair. Men are mainly affected by this problem. People become less confident and do not feel them selves after they lose their hair. But with time and technology doctors have came up with a new way to get rid of this problem. Hair can be transplanted and can be gained back with no problem.
This is how hair is transplanted: During hair implant, hair is taken from the back of the head called the ‘androgen insensitive area’ and is planted in places where there is no hair. Patient is not sedated during the procedure. But while extracting and planting hair, temporary anesthesia is used. The hair planted this way falls after 2-3 weeks. But hair grows even thicker between 10-19 weeks. 6-7 hours is required to transplant 2 thousand graft hair.
Care after transplant: After the transplant, the place of extraction is covered with bandage and paper tape and is taken out with in 48-72 hours. After taking the bandage off, antibiotic ointment is applied there for a week. And the transplanted are is left open or covered with a loose cap. This is to prevent any kind of infection. After 72 hours, hair is washed with baby shampoo at the clinic. A type of medicine is recommended to be applied even after a year of transplant. This promotes blood circulation in the transplanted are and promotes hair growth.
Common effects seen after transplant: Tension, allergy towards medicine, light bleeding are some common problems. Many people have pain in the transplant area. It can differ with person. Some have eye swelling which subsides in a week. Hair starts to grow in just 48-72 hours of transplant. Hair can be cut after 5 months. The hair gets thick after a year and shaving will also have no effect.
Who can not be transplanted? People with diabetes. Hair can be transplanted only after their diabetes is controlled. Because infection in extraction area can increase. It is also better to not have it if you have allergy to something. Hair can not be transplanted if hair has fallen off because of a disease.
