Police Shoot Down Drug Smuggling Plane in Peru

, May 05, 2016 ­ It is the new of a dramatic moment that Peruvian police shot down drug­smuggling plane and confiscated 70 kilos of cocaine after armed confrontation. Armed Peruvian police has shot down the plane in the valley of Pichis Palcazu on May 3, 2016. One suspect has managed to escape; however, the Bolivian pilot was shot and arrested. It is believed that the smugglers managed to hide 200 kilograms of cocaine during fight. The Bolivian plane, license no. CP–1818, was shot down by the agents on 3 May. Right after shooting down the air­plane, agents engaged the suspects in a three hour shoot­out. After the plane crashed to the ground, forces engaged in a three­hour gun combat in the Valley of Pichis Palcazu, a remote area of central Peru. One suspect, purportedly a Colombian man, could manage to escape, while another 58­year­old Bolivian pilot, was shot and has been taken into custody. According to the United Nations, in the world, Peru is the second largest cocaine supplier, and the first is Colombia. A Bolivian aircraft suspected of smuggling cocaine was shot down by the concerned agents in a remote part of central Peru. A Bolivian registered air plane loaded with at least 70kg of Cocaine has been forced to put down by Peruvian authorities. The plane turned down and landing strip and the nose wheel collapsed.
